Dear customers and friends!

I hope this newsletter finds you in good spirits and that you had a good start of 2010!

Our December Newsletter was packed with valuable information. If you didn't really check into it, here it is again. It's worth to dig deeper.
Did you know that you can check all our past newsletters (with plenty of free patterns!) in our Links & Newsletters page?

Now, in this January newsletter I want to give you just a couple of updates.

 Icelandic Sheep
Our Lopi Palooza is in full swing. The Islandic sheep seem to look on in disbelief. The Lopi yarns, our Yarn of the Month of January, are still available for 20% off for store purchases or online orders which we receive before February 1
Check also the available Lopi Pattern Books!

The Fair Isle Workshop with Miriam was a success and the Lopi Sweater Knit Along is well underway - but you may still join! See the updated class list for the first half of 2010!

A special treat will be a weekend with Maggie Jackson End of March. We expect knitters from the North West US and Western Canada and got first registrations from Washington already. We updated the workshop announcement with more accommodation info and a sign-up form. It all starts with a free Fashion Show on Friday evening, March 26, then you can either choose from two workshops on Saturday and Sunday or better book both of them. Get the special package price if you sign up before February 16th! Secure your spot!

Thank you for your ongoing support!

Free Patterns of the Month

Did you check the last patterns from December and January in our free pattern page lately?

Plus, Miriam Leth-Espenson left one of her designs and a knit-up sampleRuffle Scarf here after her January workshop - the BC Ruffled Single Wrap in Garter.

The Ruffle Effect is achieved by a method called Wrap and Turn. The wrap can be worn in different chique ways. See photo.

This pattern is free with the purchase of yarn only. It requires 5 skeins of Misti Alpaca Chunky, our wonderfully soft alpaca yarn!

New Yarn Colours and how to find Yarns

For example New Marble Chunky ShadesMarble Chunky, this great yarn for Afghans and more. Not only are we fully loaded with all shades again, but we also got 5 new shades (see photo).

If you are looking for yarns of a special weight or for a specific project or from a certain manufacturer or just want to check the price of a yarn, you best go into our web pages of all available yarns, sorted by name, by manufacturer, by weight, or by project.

We always work hard to update our about 300 shade cards and just finished a major update especially for those yarns which are discontinued or which we decided to take out. We appreciate your input when you come across broken links or missing photos in shade cards. Would you then please give us a brief note!? Thank you!

Check the History of Lopi and all our available Lopi pattern books. Read more here...

We like to support you in any possible way with your Winter/Baby/or Leisure projects and ship to any destination in the US and Canada! Just call us toll-free at 1-888-588-7834 for consultation and orders!

Last but not least

In our pursuit to bring in more buttons (more are on their way!) we got very beautiful and totally unique buttons from our local professional glass blower Vicki (Tideline Gallery).

Vicki' daughter had done a felted bag for Christmas and they finishedVicki's Buttons it with a self-made glass button as embellishment - the idea was born. The buttons have one, two or three holes and range from $4.95 to $7.95 in price. The size ranges from 1 1/4" to 2 1/4". Click on picture for larger image and give it a try.

Check also out our Surina page for our Surina buttons which we import from India.
