Dear customers and friends!

We hope you had a good summer!
Ours was sunny, busy - wonderful! Special greetings to all those customers who we had the opportunity to meet in person in beautiful Campbell River.

Not only is fall here, really here, but we also have been busy stocking lots of shipments in the past couple of weeks to assist you with your winter and Christmas knitting projects.

This may also help you: about 60 yarns are on the chopping block to make room for about 40 new ones. Discounts are at least 50%. See the SALE announcement for this Friday to the left. Hope to see you here or to process your online inquiries!

Cheers, Jurgen

Happy knitting and crocheting this fall!

Some "unfinished business"
  • Boy or Girl? In my last newsletter I announced that we were expecting a grandchild. It's a girl! Stella was born in Edmonton on August 15 and is spoilt by all our knitting staff, family and friends. See the precious and tiny addition to our family in our blog (you have to scroll down to the second page).
  • Upcoming Workshops: Sorry we were too busy and had to shift the planned workshops into the first Quarter of next year. Please stay tuned. New dates follow soon.
  • Local Knit 'n Bitch Groups: We have several dates each month and a series of Thursday afternoon workshops planned before Christmas. If you want to join a group (free!) please contact us and you will be invited to the workshops!
  • B&B for Retreats: I mentioned that we now offer a very cozy B&B which is an ideal opportunity for 3-6 knitters to come here for a unique West Coast knitting retreat - year round. We can arrange for workshops, entertainment and dinners. Ask for our special retreat arrangement. Visit our Hidden Harbour B&B here.

Our New Fall Yarns - trends in a nutshell

We are convinced that we brought in for you a selection of yarns which are "in", trendy or en vogue, high end quality, for affordable prices, in a stunning colour variety. It's about 40 yarns alltogether, check the list of new yarns here.

Fall Colours

A number of sock yarns (look at the Kaffe Fassett colours!) was added to our already huge sock yarn selection. More and more patterns for sweaters, kids wear etc in self striping sock yarns are available!

A number of soft, affordable and machine washable baby yarns was added to the baby yarn department with qualities ranging from acrylic to merino.

The many new luxurious yarns, although more and more affordable, contain blends of (or pure) angora, alpaca, merino, llama, lambswool, kid mohair, baby alpaca ...  which makes you already feel warm when you read this.

Check some hand picked new yarns since our last newsletter in the left column. Read the latest yarn reviews, about current projects, new patterns and books in our Yarn Blog.

Some more Pebbles found for you

Alison was busy writing brief reviews for all new yarns which you find in our yarn blog and which add some more information and life to the yarn lists by name, by manufacturer, by weight and by projects

Alison, Inge and Pam are permanently knitting samples for the store to showcase new yarns, some Christmas Hatsof which we publish in our blog. We also get sample knits from our suppliers, so that a visit here gives you a good feel when you are not sure how a yarn would knit up.

These samples are also good ideas for Christmas projects, as the hats in the photo which Inge just knit up (more in the blog).

Just a reminder: we are distributors of the soft and wonderfully grained Surina knitting and crochet needles plus a lot of accessories. In addition to the existing wooden and shell shawl pins we just got a shipment of the new and attractive Palm Shell Pins made from coconut shells. We also added 3mm to 3.75mm single pointed knitting needles to the wide range we have in stock. Check our Surina web page.

Last but not least:

Here comes a special offer for knitting groups and guilds:

Over the summer we had a lot of visitors from all over the world who gave us the impression that weKnitting Goups Special are one of the best yarn stores they've ever seen. We like to hear this, although we know that size doesn't matter. It's the quality, big selection, consulting, wide price range and flair which come together.

Those who know us and like our service: please tell your friends and get them to visit our web site and blog and to sign up for our newsletter (in this newsletter or on our web site). Please forward this letter to them (bottom of this newsletter)!

If you are a member of a knitting group, wherever in North America, you may qualify for a 10% group discount, which offsets most or all of the shipment costs. All we need is the chair of the group to contact us and we will give you a group password for future orders.
