decorating easter eggs

If you just received another newsletter from us: this one is different and targets our Gallery friends!
Happy Easter and Happy Spring!
Easter is just around the corner, and some of us practice the traditional Easter egg decoration, or even the tradition of Easter Trees in our front yards.
A tree is a symbol of life and a young tree with decorated eggs is a symbol of new life. Some of us are still waiting for Spring to kick in with milder temeratures and an abundance of flowers and colours.

Well, this is the bridge to all new Spring and Summer Products which we got in for you. Visit our store or our web site often to see what's new!!
You will find some Easter Gifts for yourself or somebody else which we will happily ship out! And - Mothers Day is coming up fast, too!

The Egg Hunt is on!
Win a 20% Discount for your next order - to be placed latest April 30!

This is what you do: this nest with Easter Eggs is hidden somewhere in our web site. Go find it and look up the code which you email us with your next order! If you are a customer in our store and do not order online, just give us the code next time when you are in and pay - and save 20%!
Passing by
This limited edition Giclee print by local native artist Andy Everson is called Passing by. Andy writes:"...on my way home, I looked out of the corner of my eye and spotted a red-breasted merganser. He was just floating along, oblivious to the elements..."
Andy is a graphic designer and at the same time he has tried to follow in the footsteps of his Kwakiutl relatives in creating bold and unique representations that remain rooted in the age-old traditions of his ancestors.
You find a good selection of Andy Everson's unique Giclee prints in our page for Local West Coast Native Art!
Wild Women of the Woods
We now got permission to sell John Henderson's Native Masks in our web site. See a selection of beautiful masks in our Native Art Page.

We are blessed with talented local native carvers who carve their traditional Kwakiutl masks, totem poles, wall plaques and regalia. Several of them are sons of the late Chief Sam Henderson, who was a well known Kwakiutl master carver.
John Henderson is a member of the Wewaikum Band in Campbell River and is also a salmon fisherman and busy politician. He was Chief and is now Councillor of the band.
Tree Families
Dianne Bersea is enthralled by the colour, diversity and magic of our coastal wild places. Her work has captured the attention of visitors and local art buyers since she began painting our land and seascapes in 1995. Prints of Dianne's work are available and are only printed in small quantities on archival watercolour paper. Dianne lives and works on nearby Cortes Island.
Dianne just had an exhibition in Campbell River's Tidemark Theatre, showing some of her latest originals. These will be available in our Pier Street Gallery pretty soon.
Just check our store, Web Site or Gallery Blog for the new arrivals!

Think Mothers Day!
Willow Pussies Raku
Just in time for Easter/Spring, but timeless in design: Ed Oldfield's Raku Vases of different shapes, each decorated with a ring of Willow Pussies. Surprisingly, these pussies hold well since some of the vases are one year old without showing a difference to the new ones. They go for $60 only and we ship them to any destination!
Check out all of Ed's Raku works in our Raku Page!

Raku pottery is created in a sophisticated process which generates amazing colours and shines. The Raku process is exciting and unpredictable, it is nearly impossible to get the same results twice.
Raccoons by Sue Coleman
Just arrived: "Raccoons" Cross Stitch Pattern by Sue Coleman!
Sue Coleman earned an international recognition for her distinctive watercolours. Especially popular have been her ‘Interpretive’ Northwest Coast Indian paintings. These have been reproduced in a limited edition print series and have sold to collectors worldwide.

Sue Coleman’s watercolours have been transfered into unique works in cross stitch. Raccoons is the latest one. See more details and more Coleman patterns in our Needlework Page!
