Dear customers and friends!

The headline of my March newsletter was "Having knitting and crochet fun in tough times!" I left it. Times are still tough, but with sunshine and Spring flowers comes a lot of positive energy.

The "Yarn of the Month" initiative which we started in March was very well received. Every Dollar counts - every month we'll pick a good quality and well priced yarn and give you a 20% discount on top. This month it's our felting bestseller Drops Eskimo.Seduce and Bonsai patterns

For your Spring and Summer projects we brought in not only a series of new, colourful yarns, but also an exceptional selection of pattern booklets with breezy, light Spring and Summer projects - generally less yarn needed for those tees and tanks..

As always: Your feedback is very welcome, please let us know what we can do better! Jurgen

Inge is just knitting this pattern above for one of our sons (if it doesn't fit, I'll get it and I cannot wait). Click on the photo to get the free pattern!

The 20% discount applies to purchases in our store or online orders from now till latest April 30. Several discounts cannot be added, the higher discount applies.

More Spring/Summer Yarns and Patterns

You find the list of all new yarns with links to shade cards in the left column. You also find Alison's write-ups on all new yarns in our store blog!

In our web site you find the list of the recent yarn arrivals, Berroco Seduce patternand the lists of yarns by name, by manufacturer, by weight and by project!

As mentioned in my introduction, we got an amazing array of new Spring/Summer pattern booklets. Check the book page! Click on the picture for more on this beautiful Summer shawl.

I think the most interesting new yarn is Rimu from New Zealand. Rimu is a special blend of merino and possum fibre. It is soft, light, very warm and doesn't pill. Read more about possums and Rimu here.

Free Pattern of the Month

Our free pattern page was well visited by the readers of last month's newsletter. I didn't add more free patterns to our list, but we got more yarn manufacturers offering free patterns on their web sites. Check out some links!

Johnstone Strait PulloverOne of Pam's first patterns for our Needle & Arts Centre, and probably the most successful one is her Johnstone Strait Pullover. It's an easy fitting pullover in children's sizes 3-10 with raglan sleeves and trendy curled up edges.

Download the FREE pattern as a PDF file here, and see the photo of Pam's first pullover, which brings out the raglan sleeves and curly edges nicely. Alison just did it in Marble, see photo above. Enjoy! It's an easy project for a beginner knitter which introduces the use of a cable needle.

Last but not least

The Prayer Shawl Experience

Lois introduced the prayer shawls to our store when she crocheted one for her family last Fall. In the meantine we got this wonderful book "The Prayer Shawl Companion, 38 knitted designs to embrace, inspire & celebrate life".

People think that prayer shawls come from a specific religious tradition. Not so - these lovingly knitted wraps are made for anyone and for nearly any occasion. The examples in this touching book are most beautiful and even colourful. See our book page (once you are there, check out the new and innovative Socks a la Carte and Knit one Below!)

Inge was inspired to knit this filigrane white prayer shawl, when our youngest son was heading off to his four month trip through South America and started a month ago in Venezuela, a place which would scare all parents. He made it safely through to Ecuador so far.

Best wishes from all of us at the
