Dear customers and friends!

Happy New Year! We hope you had a good and healthy start.

The economy has been impossible to ignore going into 2009. It seems it's not just part of the news these days, it is the news. I believe that the key to weathering a storm like this one is to not become paralyzed by it but to keep things moving forward and to remain agile and willing to change. We had a staff brainstorming in January and you'll see a lot coming out of this!

For the Needle & Arts Centre, that's all about continuing to do what we do best. In 2009, we will continue to innovate, to work diligently and to serve you more efficiently than ever before.

After our successful workshop weekend with Miriam (read the summary in our blog) we are even more encouraged to offer workshops throughout the year.

We strive to be always on the leading edge of trends, yarns, patterns and techniques, and will communicate this through our web site, blog and newsletters. In order to increase the conversation with our customers, we just startet a Ravelry Group which we encourage you to join. If you are not signed up with the knit and crochet community Ravelry yet, please do so at www.ravelry.com and it will take a couple of days to be accepted. You may read more about Ravelry in our blog!

2009 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Needle & Arts Centre! We will celebrate all year long and start right away with a huge VALENTINES YARN SALE starting on Friday February 6th and ending on Valentines Day.

Hope to hear back from you - with comments, support inquiries - or orders! Jurgen

So far. we carry Lush, Silky Alpaca Lace, Fresco, and the newest: Soft Chunky and Summer Sox (see post in our blog).

In January we got the first shipment of Filatura Di Crosa yarns, and more to come. Our heart jumped higher to get these wonderful creation, produced in heir own mill in Italy.Filatura Di Crosa logo They write: From fine-grade Merinos to knockout novelties, these yarns are sophisticated, elegant and always on the cutting edge of fashion. The Filatura Di Crosa Baby line offers the same luxury and elegance for the modern baby. So far, we got Centolavaggi and Zara (see post in our blog).

Second, we want to make very clear that we carry at least 20 VERY affordable yarns and strive to have yarns for every purpose, taste and wallet. For the Winter season, which is not over yet, Pam came up with this practical wristwarmer or Wrister: These Ribbed Wristwarmerswristwarmers are just timely with Winter all across North America. This one is an easy knit! Here is the pattern.

You need one ball of wool yarn, or a combination of yarns. If you add Drops Kid-Silk for increased smootheness, Pam advises that one 25 gram ball is enough for two pairs of wristwarmers.

Last but not least
