Greetings!
Pier Street Fall

You didn't miss a newsletter, we were just sooo busy this Summer and we are grateful for this. Plus, our web site which we only started this Spring, brings orders and new nice online friends! We like to help and chat online as we do it in our stores - we want to give you the same cosy feeling and attention in our web site which you would find here in the "real" store.

Look at this beautiful Fall photo along our Pier Street by Fae Hansen. This season of colours is also reflected in many new yarn colours as well as artwork in our gallery.
You sense more and more often now that Christmas is coming up soon, only two more months! We prepared ourselves to help you in many ways: The Yarn Store is well stocked and carries 25 more new yarns, we added staff for better support and carry more trendy patterns; we carry some new artists and new works by the existing ones in our Gallery; we ship yarn, artwork and gifts to any place in the world; and we offer gift certificates, gift giving options (send gifts directly to the receipient) and gift reminder service. Find more about this in our "Policies & Perks" page!

This issue goes again to ALL contacts in the database and we have something new in store for all of you. Later on we'll have separate newsletters for the different interest groups! Enjoy and browse our web site!

Knit in the Park
National Knit in the Park on August 12 was attended by more than 30 knitters who even travelled from down Island! All enjoyed the sunny day, the company, the spectacular scenery and hospitality. Enough squares were knit for a colourful Afghan for a good cause. See you again next year!
small projects
Start Your Small Knitting Projects for Christmas - NOW!
We prepared easy patterns and samples of mitten, scarves, felted slippers and bags, bed socks, wrist and leg warmers, hats and baby hats; more being created by our staff every day. They are easy knit and the patterns will be available online on request as well! Check our yarn blog or visit our store!

Ongoing Sale!
Take advantage of our on-going Sale wall where we have quality yarn on sale at 20% discount all the time. See more details in our Home Page.

Trendy, Trendy!
Did you know that Julia Roberts, Sarah Jessica Parker and other celebrities (guys too!) knit? Knitting and Crochet is surging in the 25 to 35 age range!
Since our last newsletter we got 25 new trendy yarns and many more trendy patterns. Look at the current list of yarns which we carry in our yarn page, where all new yarns are highlighted.

Winter's approach
New to the Gallery: Patricia Banks
Patricia communicates the moods, emotions and colours of the West Coast through her detailed acrylic paintings. Her approach draws from both the realist and impressionist traditions, her work is sensitive and reveals an intuitive grasp of the subtleties of place and time. See her works in our Gallery page and read more in our Gallery Blog.

New in our Native Gallery Page:
We carry Andy Everson's work for years. See one of his latest prints above: "Winter's approach" and find a number of other available prints in our web site.
Mark Henderson of Campbell River with his more traditional Kwakiutl designs can now be found in our Native Art Gallery Page and Gallery Blog as well.

Coming up: more Artables Coastal Treasures!!
They have been a real hit this Summer and more is ordered to give you a better selection of distinct Christmas presents: "Where Art and Table Meet". Check our Pottery Page often for the new Artables designs arriving soon.
