Building Blocks Afghan (Air)
Building Blocks by Michelle Hunter is a series of 12 fun patterns that will build your knitting skills – and a beautiful afghan! Starting with simple knit and purl stitches, your confidence will grow as you progress through several major knitting principles. Each block focuses on new stitches and techniques in a sequential fashion that “builds” upon the previously learned skill.
At the end of the series, the knitter is rewarded with an abundance of knitting know-how and 12 beautiful squares to assemble into a sampler afghan, baby blanket, pillows or anything limited only by your imagination! The finished afghan measures (blocked) about 38” (90cm) x 50” (128 cm)
A 35 pages pattern book for this project can be ordered from us. As an added bonus, all the techniques featured in this book are supported with FREE online video instruction.
DROPS Air is a very light and cozy yarn from 72% alpaca, 21% Polyamid, 7% wool. This makes the afghan especially light, but very warm as well.
We feature for this project DROPS Air, a very comfortable blow yarn.
We chose these alternative shades for this pattern.
