That Nice Stitch Cowl
That Nice Stitch is a free pattern by Candian Designer Susan Ashcroft. In her words: “When my Mum was visiting I kept asking what I could knit her and every time she replied: a cowl made with a sock yarn and “that nice stitch” - the one I used for g’day boomerang.
So I made her a cowl and wrote up the pattern.
I used sock yarn and made a skinny double loop because she wanted more of an accessory than a keep-warm cowl. You could easily use a different yarn weight or make a different size - double or single loop. The pattern provides gauge and size info for Mum’s version, but also includes tips on how to adjust for other yarn weights and sizes - but don’t forget changes will affect yarn requirements.
The stitch is very easy to knit, but really makes the most of variegated yarns that can often be hard to find patterns for.”
