Made in Pure New Norwegian wool, Peer Gynt entered the market in 1938 and has since than become Sandnes flagship yarn quality and one of Norway's best known yarns. The need for a rougher and better fitted DK weight yarn led to the development of Peer Gynt, made of long stable wool fibers. This makes it perfect for felting projects as well as warm winter garments. The versatile DK weight yarn is spun with 100% Norwegian yarn & is dyed in a large array of modern solids & heathers. Incredibly durable, the yarn is ideal for sweaters, cardigans & accessories. The round, plied strand gives wonderful stitch definition to colorwork, cables, as well as textured stitches.
Based in Sandnes, Norway, Sandnes Garn is one of the oldest mills in Norway. With a focus on positive business practices, the yarns produced by Sandnes Garn are beautiful to knit, durable & create gorgeous fabrics for garments & accessories. The collection of nature-inspired modern colorways & stunning, wearable patterns are an inspiration to knitters around the globe.
Garments made of Norwegian wool are light, warm and grow softer every time you wear them. Norwegian wool is durable and pill-resistant, and its superior resilience ensures that garments keep their shape over time. Be kind to the environment! Wool is breathable and rarely needs washing. Instead, we recommend airing your wool garments. Garments made of Norwegian wool have a long lifespan and can remain just as beautiful for several generations. As a result, Norwegian wool can contribute to more sustainable consumption.
